Cleanup crews were still working Thursday afternoon to remove branches and trees downed by Wednesday's high winds.
On Elm Street, Department of Public Works crews used chainsaws to cut down a Red Oak tree after its huge branches broke off and fell to the ground. One man used a bucket truck with a 60-foot cherry picker to cut through branches.
Ian Sporre, a certified arborist, climbed a tree with ropes and pulleys to tear down limbs in Westport.
Fairfield crews anticipate the cleanup effort to go well.
