? Connecticut doctors are applauding a federal recommendation to give flu shots to young children.
For the first time ever, a government panel of doctors has said kids between the ages of two and five should get the shot. Previously, doctors recommended that babies, seniors, pregnant women and people suffering from chronic illness get the flu shot. Wesport Pediatrician Dr. Lori Storch Smith stands behind the panel?s findings.
Research shows that the flu virus can lead to serious illness or death in young children.
