The state Senate voted Tuesday to extend Gov. Ned Lamont's emergency powers until May 20.
They had been set to expire on April 20.
The 24-to-10 vote was along party lines, with Democrats supporting the measure.
Democratic leaders say it's too soon to revoke the governor's emergency orders.
Republicans say the orders have gone on too long and that the Legislature needs to consider each order on its own.
