A former Ridgefield woman accused of trying to poison her youngest child’s father and prevent another man from proving paternity of her older kids returned to Danbury Superior Court on Friday, now pregnant, leading to a change in her bond release conditions.

“The state is asking there be a condition entered today that she not consume any alcohol,” said Assistant State’s Attorney Mary-Caitlin Harding.

Hogan’s attorney did not object to the request, which the judge granted.

Hogan has been on home confinement with GPS monitoring since posting a $1 million bond in October after she was arrested on charges of attempted murder and interfering.

State police said she tried to kill the father of her youngest child, with whom she was in the middle of a custody battle, last August. Hogan is accused of spiking an open bottle of wine at his home in Ridgefield with the chemical found in antifreeze, causing him to be hospitalized.

In December, Hogan turned herself in to police on a new arrest warrant for evidence tampering and three counts of perjury. The charges relate to a separate years-long legal fight in probate court with a man claiming to be the biological father of Hogan’s two other children. According to that warrant, Hogan is accused of providing false information in the paternity proceedings and sabotaging his efforts to prove paternity, including bringing her nephew rather than her own son to court-ordered DNA testing.

She’s pleaded not guilty in both cases.

Harding said on Friday that the state is close to making a plea offer to Hogan but declined to elaborate on the details of it. The deal is expected to be put on the record at Hogan’s next court appearance on Sept. 24. That’s when she’s expected to accept or reject the offer.
