As COVID-19 cases increases, so does testing - but a Darien doctor says that's not the only thing he's finding.
Dr. Steven Murphy, with Murphy Medical Associates, says he does 120 coronavirus tests daily. He also tests in a Darien parking lot twice a week.
He says that what may people think is coronavirus is actually rhinovirus, also known as the common cold. Murphy says the symptoms are very similar to COVID-19, including a runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, headache, cough, body aches and sometimes a fever.
He says the test he is using is very effective and the results can be available within 24 hours.
Murphy says he's encouraged by Pfizer's new vaccine, which could be available to front-line workers by the end of the year.
He also recommends getting a flu shot to reduce the strain on your body.
