A food pantry in Darien says their food expenses are up 150% compared to Thanksgiving last year.
Person To Person says the supply chain issues have contributed to inflation around food costs.
CEO Nancy Coughlin says the turkey supply isn't exactly impacted by inflation but other food supplies are. Coughlin says because of inflation, the pantry may get fewer donations from the public this holiday.
She says the pantry will be paying extra to make sure their shelves are stocked – a price Coughlin says Person To Person is willing to pay.
"This is our business and we're committed to doing it. So we're going to make sure people have what they need," Coughlin says.
