The deadline for people to enroll this year in health and dental insurance plans through Access Health CT has been extended.

Signups can now be made until Jan. 31 for coverage that will begin in February. People can also renew their coverage until Jan. 31.

The original deadline was Jan. 15.

Access Health CT said it is working with state officials to implement a new subsidy program that will lower costs for eligible residents who purchase their insurance through the exchange.

People can sign up for insurance online through the marketplace's website.

From Jan. 2 to 15, the call center will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

From Jan. 15 to 30, the call center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The call center will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight Jan. 31.

Assistance is available in more than 100 languages.
