Democrat Anabel Figueroa has defeated Republican Olga Anastos by more than 200 votes for the state representatives seat in the 148th District.
The seat was most recently held by Daniel Fox.
In Middletown, Democrat Kai Belton beat Deborah Kleckowski by 940 votes for state representative in the 100th District.
Belton will replace Quentin Williams, who was killed by a wrong-way driver on the way home from this year's governor's ball.
