Democrat Anthony Musto was victorious Tuesday placing control of the 22nd Senate District back in the hands of the Democrats.
Musto faced off against Republican Robert Russo, who had been in office for only eight months after winning the seat in a special election when Democrat Bill Finch stepped down. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Musto was declared the winner. Russo was hoping that despite the buzz about the Democratic presidential candidate, people wouldn't vote along party lines.
In his acceptance speech, Musto thanked Russo for a great race. He also thanked his wife for all that she had done for him. Musto added that in the days ahead he plans to work on putting his policies into action.
