Mayor Caroline Simmons was on hand Wednesday to check out the landscaping work of Domus Youth Service Corps on High Ridge Road.
Domus is a nonprofit that teaches teens and young adults work and life skills while they get paid on the job.
Domus's director of workforce development says when the crew started the project four months ago, they didn't have any landscaping experience.
Funding for the project came from a $460,000 youth service corps grant from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development.
