The state is launching a "Drinks On Us" program that will offer a free drink to people who show proof of vaccination next month.
Participating Connecticut restaurants are offering one free alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink to customers who show their vaccine card between May 19-31. According to a state website, a food purchase will be required and there is a limit of one drink per person.
Individual restaurants can decide which of the drinks they serve will qualify.
On Monday, Gov. Ned Lamont attributed the lower COVID-19 numbers in the state to the number of residents who are vaccinated.
He says 66% of those over 18 have gotten at least one shot.
Connecticut is set to roll up no appointment walk-in vaccine clinics at 50 locations in 26 cities and towns.
Lamont says mass vaccination sites may start scaling back in favor of a more community-based approach.
