Police say a 35-year-old man has been arrested after hitting an 18-year-old woman with his car while she was walking in Stamford late Thursday night.
They say Paul Leuthoid, of Stamford, is accused of DUI. Police say his 2020 Subaru sedan was traveling northbound near Travis Street when 18-year-old Ashley Florian attempted to cross the street.
They say Leuthoid called 911 and remained on the scene. Officers say he showed signs of intoxication before they arrested him.
Police say Leuthoid refused to submit to chemical testing and is out on a $5,000 bond.
Florian was transferred to Stamford Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was admitted to the ICU.
Anyone who may have seen the crash or have other information is asked to contact the Stamford Police Department’s Collison Analysis and Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R.S.) at 203-977-4712.
