A 28-year-old Dutchess County karate instructor has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexual crimes involving children.
Tyler LeClerc, of Hyde Park, was sentenced in Dutchess County Court, according to the DA’s office.
He had pleaded guilty to charges, including criminal sexual act and attempted sexual abuse.
LeClerc admitted to having sex with children under 17 years old and attempted to have sex with another child under the age of 13.
He was an instructor at his father’s martial arts clinic where the abuse took place.
When he is released from prison, LeClerc will serve 10 years of post-release supervision and be subject to registration as a sex offender.
