East End: The Ram's Head Inn on Shelter Island

The Ram's Head Inn on Shelter Island has been around about 100 years.
For more than 40 of those years, it was owned by a husband and wife. This year, it's under new ownership.
The rooms on the second floor have all undergone a makeover, but the atmosphere of the place, kind of a casual elegance, remains the same.
There's the historic bar, the patio restaurant and the sprawling grounds where one can sit back and enjoy the view from an Adirondack chair
The inn also offers areas where people can go on a picnic or go down for a swim, kayak or stand-up paddle board.
