The Easton mother found guilty in connection to the death of her 7-month-old son was granted a 7-week delay due to her current pregnancy.
Ashby Dickinson, 37, faces 10 years in prison. Her lawyer, however, requested the sentencing's delay so Dickinson could give birth. Dickinson is due to give birth later this month.
The judge set conditions in order for Dickinson to remain free. She must be part of an intensive monitoring program, must immediately notify the Department of Children and Families of the birth and can't fight DCF's efforts to take custody of the baby.
Dickinson?s son, Nate, died in August 2007. Police say the baby was found lying in the bathtub, not breathing, with the water running at the Dickinson?s home in Easton. They say Dickinson and a friend were home at the time, and were allegedly using alcohol and cocaine the night before and left the baby unattended.
