A car struck an elderly woman crossing Greyrock Place in Stamford Tuesday afternoon.
Police say a 41-year-old woman driving a white Toyota Camry hit the pedestrian who was walking to her car in the area. People who work in the area say they heard a loud screeching sound and looked outside to find the woman lying face down in the street.
Police say the woman, who is about 72 years old, underwent surgery at Stamford Hospital. Stamford police are asking anyone with information to contact them at (203) 977- 4444.
