Elected officials, community members and advocates for the LGBTQ community came together to raise a pride flag outside the Bronx County Courthouse Tuesday.
The event was held in honor of Pride month. It was hosted by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
Speakers at the event say this month is about bringing visibility to the LGBTQ community. They say it is also about celebrating the progress that has been made in the Bronx and looking ahead to what else can be done to support and celebrate LGBTQ people.
This is the fourth year the flag has been raised.
