Two popular gyms are requiring proof of vaccination at their clubs. Equinox and Soul Cycle say in September both will require all members and staff to show a vaccination card to enter.
The mandate will start in New York City clubs first and then roll out to its other locations including in Scarsdale, Bronxville, and Rye Brook.
Members who spoke to News 12 say they're all for it. “It’s your choice obviously to not get vaccinated but then maybe don't come to the club. I've been holding my vaccination card in my wallet since the day I got it. I’m ready to show it. So I think it’s a good idea,” says Nina Kalata, of Huntington. “It would make me feel better if everyone was vaccinated and I'm safe coming here,” says Rebecca Mazzio, of Huntington.
Equinox and Soul Cycle say a poll of members and staff showed the vast majority were okay with the vaccine mandate.
