The remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto knocked out power to thousands of people in southwestern Connecticut and left many roadways closed in Stamford Saturday.
High winds whipped through one neighborhood, causing trees to topple onto homes and cars. Power lines were also knocked down. Road crews worked to clean up the intersection of Shippan Avenue and Mitchell Street.
Many Connecticut residents say they will try to salvage what?s left of their Labor Day weekend on Sunday.
