Eversource says it has scheduled tree trimming in New Canaan between March and this summer.

The utility plans to trim 59 miles of their 166 miles of utility lines in town.

They say the trimming is intended to help reduce the number of power outages caused by trees.

Eversource says the trimming will help 8600 homes and customers.
