Experts offer tips for Southwestern CT residents to help 2007 resolutions stick
Experts offered tips to southwestern Connecticut residents to help them reach their New Years resolution in 2007.Psychologist Dr. William Grodman says people benefit when they set moderate or realistic goals. He also says people who stick to their resolutions for six weeks have a better chance of reaching their goals and maintaining their results. Grodman says those six weeks give the behavior time to become a habit.Karen Villamil, of Fairfield, says she relies on her trainer Giovanna Accinelli to help her along. Accinelli advises people not to go it alone. She says friends or trainers help as motivation. Both Grodman and Accinelli agree it takes motivation to reach any goal.
