FAA: Small plane experienced 'engine issues' before plunging into Long Island Sound

The report states the aircraft experienced "engine issues" about 10 minutes after taking off from Sikorsky Airport. It then ditched into the water off Branford.

The FAA has released the preliminary report after a small plane plunged into Long Island Sound Sunday morning
The report states the aircraft experienced "engine issues" about 10 minutes after taking off from Sikorsky Airport. It then ditched into the water off Branford.
Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim said it was a miracle that first responders were able to rescue both the pilot and passenger.
They sustained only minor injuries.
