The Store at First Church Congregational in Fairfield has been closed since March 2020 and opened its doors again Monday, offering deals to local shoppers and aid to the community.
First Church has been operating the thrift store since 1978.
On the first day back, shoppers were lining up outside an hour before opening to get a look at the deals.
Volunteers say they are as happy as the shoppers are to be able to come back to the sense of community at the thrift store.
Organizers say proceeds from the store are an important church fundraiser, when they're not supporting local nonprofits, such as Operation Hope.
The Store at First Church is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
