Fairfield County residents are digging deep to help a popular restaurateur in his battle with cancer.
Kelley LeRose says her husband, Bob, founded the first Bobby Q's in Westport back in 2004. Eight years later, he was diagnosed with a rare form of soft tissue cancer.
It's been nearly 10 years since Bob LeRose's diagnosis. Kelley LeRose says he's remained relentlessly positive throughout his treatment, even finding time to open Bobby Q's restaurants in Greenwich and Norwalk.
Kelley LeRose says immunotherapy, physical therapy and 10 surgeries have been a financial burden on the family.
That's why a few of Bob LeRose's college buddies started a GoFundMe for the family Tuesday.
The campaign blew past its $100,000 goal in less than a day.
Kelley LeRose says her husband, who founded Westport's Blues, Views and BBQ Festival back in 2008, has always been a community guy - now the community is giving back.
