Picking out the perfect flowers for mom is something you may not have been able to do for Mother's Day last year because of the pandemic, but this year a Fairfield flower shop is excited to have customers back inside-- for one of its busiest weekends.
The inside of Hansen's in Fairfield is covered with plants, plant baskets, roses, peones, tulips and traditional bouquets.
Although the doors were shut last year, employees say they did offer online and sidewalk service. But it wasn't the same
"We're thrilled to start seeing our familiar faces, seeing some people we haven't maybe seen since 2019," Gardiner says.
Longtime designer Nancy Gardiner says they're even busier than they were in 2019, pre-pandemic.
She says they have brought in extra help to fulfill orders and that the long hours are all worth it.
"We've always been right through, as much as we've had to scramble... always maintain ability to make something beautiful... and share people's feelings through our craft and through flowers," Gardiner says.
