The Fairfield High School hockey team is rallying around one of its own, who once again, finds himself in the fight of his life.
The community has learned Charlie Capalbo's cancer has returned, so they are once again showing their support to Charlie and his family.
The boys on the team are playing Greenwich High School next Saturday night on the Wonderland of Ice rink in Bridgeport. They want to beat their rivals – and want a W for Capalbo.
Capalbo was the goalie for the Fairfield hockey team.
The 23-year-old has been in remission three times in the past five years. Sadly, the cancer has returned.
The team continues to stay Capalbo Strong. They have his name on all their jerseys and say they will be thinking of him every moment on the ice next weekend.
All the money raised will go to the Capalbo family.
"I think it shows how strong the hockey community is, once you're part of this team, we never forget about you. We continue fight for Charlie - every game, we think about him," said senior John Vallillo.
"We have stickers on our helmets, and we'll just be on the ice for him. We're looking to have a great night, and get the win, and we'll be thinking of him the whole time," said senior Finn Houi.
The game will be Saturday Feb. 19 at 8 p.m
