The man accused of killing two Fairfield jewelers last year is fighting extradition from New York to Connecticut.
Chris DiMeo is currently serving a life sentence in New York for killing a jeweler on Long Island. At a hearing Friday, DiMeo's attorney argued that his client never fled from Connecticut and therefore the New York court lacks jurisdiction to extradite him.
DiMeo, who is charged with two counts of felony murder in Connecticut, could face the death penalty. Court officials say the judge will make a decision on DiMeo's extradition within two weeks.
