Fairfield officers deliver toys to cancer patients at St. Vincent’s Medical Center
Christmas came early for children battling cancer at St. Vincent's Medical Center.
The Fairfield Police Department flooded the SWIM Center for Cancer Care at the Bridgeport hospital Thursday with hundreds of gifts collected over the course of about two weeks.
News 12 is told the police department collects toy donations for a different cause each year around the holidays.
"We want to support our community, we want to support our people," says Sgt. Mike Paris. "We're trying to do the right thing by getting toys for them so they don't have to worry about anything else."
Officers tell News 12 that seeing a smile on a children's faces makes it all worth it.
