A car crashed into a house Monday morning on North Benson Road by Barlow Road in Fairfield.
Fire officials say the house was occupied at the time but no one in the house was injured.
They say it was complicated to get the driver out of the vehicle.
"They were able to pull the vehicle enough so they could get access to the driver. Medic crews and fire crews stabilized the driver," said Fairfield Fire Department Deputy Chief of Operations Patrick Barry. "While we did that, concurrently we were stabilizing the house so that the house did not collapse.”
He said the driver was awake and talking while being extracted. He was taken to the hospital.
The Fairfield building inspector is inspecting the home to make sure it's safe for residents.
