Friday is Lollipop Day, and it is thanks to a group of students in Fairfield.
The Fairfield State Delegation presented a proclamation to students in Joan Robb's third grade class at Dwight Elementary School.
After learning about state government, students wanted to create their own bill.
They researched and wrote letters to the delegation explaining why lollipops should be the state's official candy.
Even though lollipops might not become the state's official candy, Robb says they might form a group for students to work on the issue this legislative session.
