A local family celebrated one year since the team of the ?Extreme Makeover: Home Edition? TV show unveiled their new home before a national audience.
The producers of the popular ABC reality show approached Gloria Brown?s family a year ago, shortly after a fire ravaged their home.
?When it happened, it seemed like everything went down, down hill,? Brown?s son recalls.
Since then, the life of Brown and her three children got back on track in their new Victorian house at 285 Hollister Ave. in Bridgeport.
The eldest child, Bobby Brown, is bound for college, while the two younger ones are working toward a career in show business.
?It's an eye-opener to the community that miracles do happen if you only believe,? Bobby Brown says.
Gloria Brown is an elder at the English Chapel Church, and in September she will invite the entire community to a street festival in Bridgeport to show her appreciation for the support everyone has given her.
