The family of a Bridgeport man who was critically injured in a hit-and-run says they are facing a financial nightmare.
Felix Rivera, 52, has been in the intensive care unit at Yale-New Haven Hospital for nearly a month since a hit-and-run driver struck him as he was walking home from work on North Avenue in Bridgeport.
Rivera's fiancé, Kim Rosa, says she has been trying to hold her family together on the $250 per week income she gets as a disability benefit through Rivera's union.
Rosa says she is trying to raise $20,000 to get into a new apartment that is handicap-accessible so Rivera can have a home to come to after he completes his rehab.
