The family of a Bridgeport woman who died from injuries sustained in a fire spoke with News 12 Connecticut about their loss.
About a dozen of Marisol Estrada's family members came together Friday for a vigil in front of a memorial in her honor. They say expressions of unity are giving them the strength to say their final farewells.
The mother of three was born in Puerto Rico and loved to cook. Her 2-year-old daughter Allianna was critically hurt in the fire, but is now doing better.
The family is asking the public to give only to the one special fund they've established through the Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust to pay for Estrada's funeral. They say any other funds are not authorized by them and will be reported to police.
