The fate of a Stamford center that has been providing dental care to low-income residents for years is in jeopardy. The Dental Center, located inside Saint Joseph's Family Life Center, is operated by St. Vincent's Medical Center. Hospital officials want to close the medical care portion of the facility and have another company, Optimus Health Care, look after dental care. Worried citizens, politicians and a few patients voiced their concerns at a public hearing held by the Office of Health Care Access. They are hoping St. Vincent's can see why the service is vital to the community.
