Fathers and anti-violence advocates gathered Thursday on the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall to take a pledge against violence that has been in the community.
This marks the 13th annual NYC Father’s Day pledge against violence. Advocates wore orange shirts, which is the color of gun violence awareness, and held signs that said “end all abuse”.
The pledge to end gun violence comes at a time when gun violence has skyrocketed across the city. City data shows domestic violence complaints have also risen by more than 10,000 from 2021 to 2022 to date.
