Firefighters spent nearly an hour battling a blaze that quickly crept up to the roof of a home in Shelton.

The condo in Summerfield Gardens began around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, and initially started in the basement.

Officials described a situation where firefighters were met with high heat and zero visibility upon arrival.

Crews managed to contain the damage to two units in a single structure and were eventually able to put out the flames without any injuries.
