Firefighters in Milford say that the brush fire that ignited yesterday and continued burning into today has finally been put out.
Fire officials say that they will remain on the scene in case any hot spots flare up.
The fire started at around 6 p.m. yesterday in the woods behind Bridgeport Avenue and charred approximately 50 acres of land.
The fire caused parts of Interstate 95 to be shut down temporarily and for Metro-North and Amtrak trains to be suspended for a short time yesterday.
Officials say that fortunately, no one was injured in the fire.
