The first day of school comes a month late for one Bronx student. Giovanni Jimenez was set to begin classes at the Bronx High School for Performance and Stagecraft. When he arrived, he found the building wasn't equipped to handle his wheelchair. Giovanni?s mother says, for a month she tired to enroll her son in several schools. She says it wasn?t until News 12 The Bronx got involved that she saw any results. Officials from the Department of Education say they weren?t aware of the problem until they were contacted by News 12 The Bronx. Now, Giovanni is enrolled at Samuel Gompers High School, which has elevators and ramps so he?ll be able to get around the building without any trouble.
