Super Bowl LVIII has finally arrived and the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers has created plenty of buzz.
News12 Connecticut’s Tom Krosnowski got the pulse of shoppers at Stew Leonard’s Norwalk before the big game.
Some Norwalk natives said they have been out-of-state fans since birth.
"I became a fan in 1967. They had four or five good years, then 50 years of terrible football," said one resident from Norwalk.
Others admit they only became fans once Taylor Swift started dating Travis Kelce, tight end for the Chiefs. One woman told News 12 that football is part of her love story. The California resident said "40 years ago, our first date was a 49ers-Lions game."
For others, the key to a great Super Bowl game and party is usually the spread – dips, chips, wings and more.
“We have a team of five people over there making this homemade guacamole,” said Nicole Weiss, the vice president of Stew Leonard’s Norwalk.
"Stew's kettle popcorn is an absolute favorite," said one resident from Fairfield.
Stew Leonard’s is expecting to go through 40,000 chicken wings and plenty of Taylor and Travis-related sweets.
"We have these TnT cupcakes, so all the dads can bond with their daughters," said Weiss.
When News 12 asked shoppers for their Super Bowl predictions, they appeared to be split down the middle.
