After the Department of Public Health deemed tackle football too risky to play amid the pandemic, players, coaches, cheerleaders and parents protested in West Hartford Sunday.
The athletes are calling on the CIAC to change its course and allow players to have a choice. There is an option for a modified seven-on-seven season, as well as a potential spring football season, but players say it's not enough.

Protesters made their way to the West Hartford Green. Sources tell News 12 there could be another protest at the state Capitol.
Over a dozen coaches sent a letter to Gov. Ned Lamont advocating for a fall season. Players who couldn't make it to the Hartford rally held a smaller event in Fairfield.
