The Fordham Prep boys basketball team hoped for a win as it hosted the Jesuit Classic, while other local teams hit the road for holiday play.
The Rams opened the three-team tournament against Buffalo?s Canisius High School. The Rams tried to rally, but Canisius? Justin Young proved to be too much. He racked up 24 points, helping Canisius win 62-50. The tournament marks the Rams? 12th straight year playing at home for the holidays.
Meanwhile, Monsignor Scanlon High School is headed to Trumbull, Connecticut to play in the Northeast Christmas Classic. Mount St. Michael is headed upstate to play in the Kingston Tournament. John F. Kennedy High School is off to Atlanta, Georgia for the Peach State Classic.
