Former Ocean Township police officer sentenced to 3 years' probation for theft, forgery

The 52-year-old must pay $8,400 in restitution to two victims.

A former Ocean Township police officer was sentenced to three years' probation on theft and forgery charges.
Officials say Cory Cole had a previous part-time job in real estate. Monmouth prosecutors say he forged a letter to secure a $425,000 loan to buy a property in Brielle.
According to prosecutors, Cole kept more than $4,000 in security deposits from tenants.
The 52-year-old must pay $8,400 in restitution to two victims.
