Former Rep. Themis Klarides announces bid for U.S. Senate seat

Themis Klarides, the former Connecticut House minority leader, announced that she will run for the U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by Sen. Richard Blumenthal.
Her announcement came on “This Week in Connecticut” show Sunday morning on WTNH.
Klarides would be Sen. Blumenthal’s highest profile opponent since he first ran for Senate against Linda McMahon in 2010.
She had been exploring a run for governor, as well.
