? Friends and family gathered at a Stratford restaurant Sunday to raise money for a friend whose body was broken in a car accident, but not his spirit.
David Buzgo says last year a deer cut him off and he swerved, ending up in the woods. Buzgo is paralyzed from the chest down and spent months in and out of the hospital. He works from home now and continues to enjoy life. His friends still want to make things easier for him.
Rusty Hawks organized a benefit at Harborside Bar and Grill and invited friends, coworkers, former classmates and family. Friends want to buy Buzgo a handicapped equipped van, which costs up to $60,000. More than 200 people paid the minimum donation amount of $50 to attend the benefit. Hawks expects to raise the funds by the end of June.
