A 9-year-old girl in Greenwich is using lemonade and sweet treats to help raise money for a friend who's fighting a serious and rare illness.
Addison O'Loughnane's classmate, 7-year-old Sam Buck, is one of only 250 people in the world living with vanishing white matter disease, which is incurable and affects the brain's white cells.
"I feel like it's not fair, because everybody deserves to be healthy and happy in life," Addison says.
She enlisted the help of her parents, her sister and Sam's sister to set up a lemonade stand to raise some money and spread awareness.
In just their first day of business, they raised more than $500.
The stand will be around all weekend.
Addison's father Jared is also donating a dollar for every person who signs up for his company, CouponzDirect.
