Two local nurses came together Tuesday to try and bring some holiday joy to a Bridgeport family whose father was stabbed to death in Norwalk.
Police say cab driver Jackson Pierre-Louis was stabbed to death last week. They have charged Ramiro Arcos-Garcia in connection with his death.
Richard Conte and Karen Mellers, nurses at a local hospital, say they decided to get Christmas gifts for Pierre-Louis's three children after watching a story about his death on News 12 Connecticut.
Conte and Mellers reached out to local businesses for help getting gifts together. They received a television, X-Box gaming system and a laptop computer for the children.
Conte and Mellers say they don't know Pierre-Louis or his family personally, but felt compelled to pay it forward. They say they hope to give the children the gifts this weekend.
