Gov. Lamont appoints Charlene Russell-Tucker as acting education commissioner

Gov. Ned Lamont announced his replacement Wednesday for former state Education Commissioner Miguel Cardona - who is the newly sworn-in U.S. education secretary.

Gov. Ned Lamont announced his replacement Wednesday for former state Education Commissioner Miguel Cardona - who is the newly sworn-in U.S. education secretary.
Charlene Russell-Tucker will serve as acting education commissioner following the recommendation of the state Board of Education.
She has more than 20 years of experience in education and was most recently the deputy commissioner.
Lamont and the state board will now work to find a permanent replacement.
