Gov. Ned Lamont ordered nursing home workers Friday to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an appointment for a second dose by Sept. 7.
The order is directed to nursing home workers who work directly with patients.
The order still allows for medical and religious exemptions.
Nursing homes that fail to comply are subject to a $20,000 daily fine.
