Gov. Lamont says to think twice before traveling to NY, NJ amid omicron spread

As Christmas quickly approaches, the omicron variant has officially become the dominant strain of the coronavirus in the United States. So, should people be changing their holiday travel plans?
This year is quite different than last, with no talk of imposing travel restrictions within the U.S.
Gov. Ned Lamont said Monday he might be hesitant to travel to New York and New Jersey since omicron is spreading more quickly there. The governor says it is a good idea to test before gathering with others.
"If I am thinking out loud, I say New York and New Jersey, given the spread of omicron, I might be hesitant about going there," he said. "I'm not going to enforce quarantines or anything."
