Gov. Dannel Malloy briefed Bridgeport city business leaders and officials on the state's budget battle.

Bridgeport is reportedly facing a $20 million deficit.

During the Bridgeport Regional Business Council's 2016 Capitol Luncheon yesterday, Malloy has said he will not accept, and therefore veto, any budget that raises taxes or borrows money from the rainy day fund.

House Democratic lawmakers in Hartford are reportedly close to a deal.

The legislative session ends next Wednesday.
